Distance: 110.33km
After breakfast, your driver will pick you up at the hotel and you will make your way to Tarangire National Park. The drive will be approximately 2 hours.
Big baobab trees, bush savannah, and the seasonal marshes add to the wonders of this nature reserve. Tarangire National Park is considered to be one of the best parks to view elephants up close.
The Park is also home to buffaloes, zebras, and wildebeests that are closely followed by a range of predators such as lions and leopards, but cheetahs are rarely spotted in this area. From the open rooftop of your safari vehicle, you will be able to absorb the landscape and get a perfect view of the wildlife.
You will enjoy a picnic lunch overlooking the Tarangire river and afternoon a game drive before heading to your accommodations for the night.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park - Serengeti National Park
Non-game-viewing travel time: 4hours
Distance: 242 km.
After early morning breakfast, you will exit Tarangire and head towards the Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmlands of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Leaving the highlands at the back, you will move into the heart of wild Africa, the Serengeti National Park with its endless plains rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see.
You will head to the central park area, also known as Seronera. Seronera is one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park and features the Seronera River which provides a valuable water source to the wildlife in the area.
The wildlife is representative of most of the Serengeti’s wildlife species. You will arrive in Seronera mid-day and after lunch, you will enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti National Park.
Dinner and overnight at Tumbili public camps -
Day 3 & 4: Serengeti National Park
These two days will be spent on game drives in the Serengeti. You will head out on your game drives after breakfast at the camp. The areas that you visit will depend on where the migrating herds are.
The herds are usually followed by predators and can be seen trekking behind them. From July to October, the herds are in Northern Serengeti. During the short rainy season in November and December, they move from the hills in the north to the plains in the south.
During the longer rainy season from April to June, they return to central Serengeti. The yearly trek is determined by the rainfalls and the location of the herds might vary from year to year. Your guide will know where the animals will be located so that you can fully experience what Serengeti has to offer.
Apart from wildebeests and zebras, you will also be able to spot predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs as well as elephants, buffalos, and if lucky, rhinos. Depending on your location, you will be able to venture out to the Seronera river or the Grumeti river.
Dinner and overnight at Tumbili public campsite -
Day 5: Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater
Non-game-viewing travel time: 2hours
Distance: 147 km, 91 miles
After breakfast at the camp, you will head out for a game drive until mid-day. You will have a picnic lunch in the Park and continue onward to Ngorongoro.
On the way, you will visit the Maasai people who live in the Ngorongoro conservation area and you will be able to learn about their culture and traditional practices.
Dinner and overnight at Simba Campsite -
Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha / JRO
Non-game-viewing travel time: 3 hours
Distance:181.21 km.
After early morning breakfast, you will descend approximately 600 meters into the crater for a half-day game drive. Supported by year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro National Park supports a variety of animals, including herds of wildebeests, zebras, buffalos, elands, warthogs, hippos, and giant African elephants.
Another big attraction to this picturesque National Park is its dense population of predators, such as lions, hyenas, and jackals. Cheetahs and leopards are usually not seen in the crater as they tend to roam outside the crater and around the crater rim. With some luck, you may see black rhinos that are easier to spot in Ngorongoro than other parks in Tanzania.
You will visit Lake Magadi, one of the main features of the crater. Lake Magadi is a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner of the crater and is home to flamingos and hippos. You will enjoy lunch at the designated picnic site and start your journey back to Arusha.
Your hotel will be on a Bed & Breakfast basis.
