Lake Manyara National Park is one of the smallest but most diverse parks in Tanzania. The shallow and alkaline Lake Manyara covers a large area of the park and is the seasonal home to thousands of flamingos which create an illusion of a beautiful pink shoreline. The Park is also home to more than 400 bird species as well as other wildlife. During your game drive watch for troops of blue monkeys and baboons in the forest, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras and wildebeests on the grassy plains and elephants and lions in the acacia woodlands. The Park is famous for tree climbing lions and if you are lucky, you might see them lounging in the trees. From the open rooftop of your safari vehicle you will be able to comfortably watch the animals and absorb the stunning landscape of the Park and the Great Rift valley. After an extensive game drive and a picnic lunch you will exit the Park and make your way to your accommodations in Karatu. On your way, you will stop at a viewpoint to enjoy the spectacular beauty of the lake and its surroundings.
